Welcome to Turn In The Road Vineyard at Big Valley Wine

We grow Sauvignon Blanc grapes, and only Sauvignon Blanc, at an elevation of 1,385 feet in the Big Valley region of Northern California.  Big Valley is known for its gravel seams and rich loam soil at the edge of the Kelseyville Bench.  The area produces remarkable Sauvignon Blanc, and our vineyard is proud of the quality of our grapes.  The vineyard has a northeastern exposure and soil that is rich in nutrients.  The climate is ideal for Sauvignon Blanc production.  Warm days and cool nights (averaging 94 and 48 degrees respectively during the growing season) produce a thick-skinned grape with excellent tropical fruit characteristics and a muted herbaceous background.

We understand that those who make premium wines have their own individual preferred styles of winemaking.  We're happy to work closely with you to ensure that our grapes fit precisely with the wine style that you want.  From canopy management through thinning and leafing into the actual harvest, we work according to your specifications.

Our 2011 harvest is complete, and the crop was exceptional.  We're now looking forward to 2012.  We have a story to tell about high quality grapes, our ability to work with both large and small buyers, and the way that we manage our vineyard.  Wine from previous harvests has retailed for as much as $30 a bottle.  We hope that you will take time to learn about our vineyard, our management practices, and how we can provide you with the highest quality grapes priced in line with today's wine market.  Call or email us with any questions.
